Abstract

Nervous transferences to reestablish the flexion of the elbow in the avulsion injuries of the brachial plexus. Rev Cubana Ortop Traumatol [online]. 1997, vol.11, n.1-2, pp. 41-45. ISSN 1561-3100.

It is reported the experience obtained in the treatment of 19 patients with avulsion radicular injuries of the brachial plexus between 1990 and 1993 with a follow-up more than 24 months. The neurotization of the musculocutaneous nerve with the phrenic and intercostal nerves resulted in an active flexion of the elbow in 9 patients (49.9 %).
