Abstract

A retrospective longitudinal study was conducted from January 2003 to December 2004 through a glaucoma screening test applied to all the age groups from the population of Las Tunas municipality. The objective was to determine the incidence and the main risk factors of primary open angle glaucoma in 3 789 patients. The incidence rate was 1,97 for all the age groups. Risk factors found were age, blood hypertension and ocular hypertension
