Abstract

A retrospective and descriptive study was conducted to analyze how the ethic and social aspects are manifested in the nursing diagnoses and their influence on the development of the profession. It was observed in the historical background the concern for searching a proper conceptual framework for nursing as a profession and that its ethic and social repercussion is given by the fact that it allows to individualize care and to fulfill the principles of autonomy, beneficence, non-maleficence and justice. Therefore, the development of the profession with an ethic, holistic and humanistic view depends largely on the attention given, starting from the nursing diagnoses
