Abstract

SURIS, Moraima  and  RODRIGUEZ-ROMERO, A. Ceratothripoides claratris Shumsher (Thysanoptera: Thripidae), NEW SPECIES IN CUBA. Rev. Protección Veg. [online]. 2009, vol.24, n.1, pp. 51-53. ISSN 2224-4697.

Crop and wild plants were sampled by striking plants over a white cardboard in Guantánamo province. The specimens were collected and prepared by techniques of clearing for slide mounting. Identification was done using the regional taxonomic keys for thrips species. As a result, the species Ceratothripoides claratris Shumsher was reported in soybean, cucumber, pepper, banana and wild plants for the first time in Cuba.
