Abstract

A research to identify the natural enemies associated with Raoiella indica Hisrt (Acari: Tenuipalpidea) was carried out in Santiago de Cuba. Samples were taken monthly from different species of R.indica host plants during two years The natural enemies were collected, recorded and identified; their frequency of appearance was also determined. Amblyseius largoensis Muma was the only representative of the family Phytoseiidae and it was observed in 74% of the host plants, followed by Chrysopa cubana Hagen (Neuroptera: Chrysopidae), Stethorus sp., Scymnus sp. (Coleoptera: Coccinellidae), and Orius insidiosus Say (Hemiptera: Anthocoridae), with 42.8%, 28.5%, 19.1% and 14.2%, respectively. This phytoseid mite was also the most frequent species together with C. Cubana, they were found in 100% and 54.1% of the samples.
