Abstract
GUZMAN GOMEZ, Majela. The interdisciplinarity phenomenon in Information Science: context of appearance and central attitudes. ACIMED [online]. 2005, vol.13, n.3, pp. 1-1. ISSN 1024-9435.
The standing notions of discipline and interdiscipline in the framework of social sciences are identified and analyzed. The interdisciplinary condition of Information Science is examined based on the consensus existing in the area about the presence of the "intedisciplinarity" phenomenon since its origin and during its development. The analysis of the existance of different positions in relation to this phenomenon within the scientific environment at the time of founding the area is contextualized.
