Distance education has attained a remarkable advance due to the fast evolution of the new information and communication technologies that make possible to reach large masses of students, to shorten the distances between the professor and the students and among the students themselves. The Health Information Network (Infomed) and the creation of the Health Virtual University (UVS) opened the doors to this new teaching modality in the branch of Public Health.
