The creation, organization and implementation of the Cuban Journalism Observatory are analyzed, as is the basis to perform informational surveillance. The surveillance phases are studied, as well as the requirements of a content management system to support information management in the observatory, and its information architecture. The basis, the organization and the design method used in the products and services of the Cuban Journalism Observatory, and more specifically of their informational intelligence services, are analyzed as well as the evaluation standards, according to the requirements and needs of the press managing staff.
