Arterial hypertension constitutes a serious health problem that provokes damage to the body, mainly in the heart, the kidneys and the retina. It is one of the components of the metabolic syndrome and it is associated with obesity and sedentarism, Hypertension is prevented with modifications in the life style and some medicines. The changes in life style include healthy diets, the increasing of physical exercises, avoiding toxic habits as cigarettes smoking and the diminishing of body weight in overweight and obese patients.
