Abstract

An epidemiological-descriptive study was performed of suicides occurred in Camaguey province from 1980-1995 which gave a total of 2778 deceased by this cause; the purpose was to find the equation for the regression line departing from the annual suicidal rates for the two subsequent years. The corresponding technic was applied for elaborating the annual endemic channel using the method of inframaximal and supraminimal values measuring from the monthly rate per year, which proves an increase of suicides in August and September with a decrease in February, and finally, the potential life years lost by suicides in the overall period and as annual mean.
