Abstract

FERNANDEZ BLANCO, Desiree; CIDRANES BLOMELIN, Margarita  and  DELGADO GONZALEZ, Ernesto. Clinical results obtained with the application of two system of pins in fixed prosthesis. AMC [online]. 1998, vol.2, n.2. ISSN 1025-0255.

A descriptive and prospective study was carried out from january 1996 to december 1997, applying surveys at the begining of treatment at discharge and at six months, according to the type of pin used, with the aim of evaluating the clinical results obtained with the two systems of pins used in individual restorations with fixed prosthesis in the Dental Clinics independencia of Camagüey City. The universe of study was composed of 72 patients; 16 out of them were selected because they had all necessary conditions for the study. Two systems of pins were applied to them, cast pins of chromonickel and self-thraded pins. The most used teeth were superior central incisors, the cervical adjustment of the croown was correct in the higher percentage of cases. No root fractures were found. The retention of the intraconduct pin was good, and adaptation was adequate in the great majority of patients. Clinical results obtained in bath systems were favorable.
