Abstract

A descriptive and prospective study was performed in pregnant women with post term labor in Ana Betancourt de Mora GynecoObstetric Provincial Hospital during the year 1995 so as to know morbimortality related with this entity. Clinical Records were the source of data and a questionary was processed through computation with MICROSTAT System using percentages and the Proportion Hypothesis Test. Twohundred and fifty pregnant women were diagnosed for a 3, 96%? 224 out of them were among 18 and 35 yearsold, and 166 were nulliparous. The amniotic fluid rate through ultrasonography was normal in 91, 10% and 95, 10% were born vigorously. The early labor was spontaneous in 52, 40% of women and 63, 20% finished with dystocic labors. The 40% of newborn weighted from 3000grs to 3499grs. Macrosomy was more frequent than low birth weight. Impetigo and BALAM were the most frequent morbidity of the newborn.
