An observated, analytical, longitudinal, restrospective, control-case study was performed about the risk factors of ischemic cardiopathy in an adult population of Nuevitas Municipality from April to December 1997. The calculated sample was that of 115 patients and 230 controls. It was shown that 86, 96% of cases were older than 60 years. Smoking habit, obesity, and hypercolesterolemia reached frequencies higher in the cases compared with controls. Arterial.
