Abstract

A descriptive, cross-sectional study was performed about the behavior of de risk factors of cerebrovascular disease in community (Health Clinic No. 15) in patients 50 years and over, belonging to "Carlos J. Finlay"Polyclinic of camagüey city, within one-year period, January to December, 1990. The study universe was composed of 120 patiens of 50 years and over, who participed in surver, according to experts criteria by the author of the investigation, and that constituded the primary register. Data obtained were automatically processed. Arterial hypertension was the most frequent chronic disease found, the second being Diabetes Mellitus, and the third Dislipidemias.Smoking was the most representative toxic habit in 63,3% obesity 56,6%. It was frequent to find patients with con three or more risk of suffering from a cerebrovascular disease.
