The purpose was to determine morbimortality for this entity in geriatric age. Males of 60 to 79 years old were the most affected. Complications of abdominal hernias and acute cholecystitis were the main causes of acute abdomen in the elder. Septic complications, hydromineral and acid-basic basic disorders prevailed. Affections that had higher mortality rate were perforations and intestinal occlusions. Hospital staging was of 6 to 10 days.
