Abstract

A descriptive, cross-sectional study was performed with the aim of knwing the behavior of Integrated System for Medical Emergencies in our hospital within the period from january 1998 to april 1999. Main results were those of 42, 3 % of assisted patients for Pediatrics; 31, 5 % ffor Internal Medicine; 23, 5 % for General Integral Medicine ; 14, 5 % for Obstetrics . A total of 2,478 remissions were really tributary of the Emergecy Services and/or Medical Emergency. Morbility was representedby acute diarrheic diseases, bronchial asthma, cardiopathy and nephritic cholic. Mortality was given by 101 patients deceased, 38, 5 % for acute myocardial infarction.
