VILLAFANA CASTILLO, Osmery and PACHECO TELLEZ, Francisco. Mesh implants via peritoneal for recurrent inguinal hernia. AMC [online]. 2002, vol.6, n.2, pp. 95-102. ISSN 1025-0255.
A preliminary, explicative, longitudinal and prospective study in 70 patients operated with the diagnosis of inguinal recurrent hernia within a period of five years (January 1995- december 1999) was carried out. For the application of this surgical thecnique, a group of skifull specialists was trained for this. The tehnique used, included the following elements: reduction of the hernial sac and its treatment, classic repairment via posterior with non-absorbable suture for separated points from transverse arch reflexion to the ileopubic tract or Cooper's ligament when the hernial orifice required it, afterwards the implant of Mersinellene's mesh with anchor, to the anatomic structure mentioned. The follow-up sequence was of 15 days, 1 month, 3 months, 6 months and year. Up to now, hernial recurrences have not been reported in patients to whom this technique was applied.
