Abstract

PUIG RAVINAL, Luis; ALTUNAGA CARBONELL, Ana  and  HIDALGO PACHECO, Agustín. The ortopedic facial mask: its importance in the treatment of the angle class III. AMC [online]. 2002, vol.6, n.4, pp. 438-443. ISSN 1025-0255.

A udpdated bibliographic review of the orthopedic facial mask was carried out. Adventages and possibilities of this therapy for angle class III since early ages and in other dysgnathias as maxillary brachygnasthism in patients with cletf lip and palate were analyzed. Steps in the construction of each constitutive element, as well as the application of orthopedic forces and evolution of patients in the clinic were described. Utilization of the dynamic facial mask for its multiple adventages to the patient and orthodontist, with the consequent saving of material and time in the clinic and laboratory is recomended.
