Abstract

A descriptive, longitudinal study about the histhopalogic results of kidney biopsies by percutaneous puncture with the ultrasonographic guidance of patients carriers of glomerular diseases, biopsed at Manuel Ascunce Domenech clinical-surgical Provincial Hospital from january 1st, 1997 to december 31st, 1998, was carried out. The sample was composed of 100 patients to whom biopsy was practiced. There was a masculino sex prevalence (51, 0 %) and of white race (72, 0 %). The most affected age group was that of 20-29 years with 37 patients nephrotic syndrome was the most common presentation from of glomerulopathies (74, 0 %). The most frequent histopathologic pattern found in primary glomerular diseases was segementary and focal sclerosis (21, 0 %), lupus nephritis grade IV (41, 6 %) was the most frequent among secondary. The 86.0 % of sick presented secondary microscopy hematuria and significant modifications of hemoglobin were not observed 24 hours after biobsy.
