Abstract

An educative community intervention study was carried out with the aim of increasing education for health about arterial hypertension that patients should have in their health clinics of the familiy physician at Ignacio Agramonte teaching hospital. This community intervention was performed by year students of medicine in their rotation through sociomedical subjects from 2000 to 2001 course, and consisted in group dynamics performed by the students. As a result it was obtained that the greater quality of hypertensive corresponded to older than 40 years, women workers and with terminated secondary education level, knowledge levels about the treatment of arterial hypertension are lower than the clinic of the disease and after the second group dynamics higher increase of right answer about treatment was obtained After the educative community intervention used, patients improved knowlogde their disease as well as treatment, which brought about as a consequence a better control of it.
