Abstract

A descriptive statistic study with patients examined and remitted according to the early diagnostic program for oral cancer during 1994 to 200 at " Ismael Clark and Mascaró" Odontology Clinic was carried out, with the aim of determining the frequency of patients examined and remitted, establishing categorization of remitted patients, determining the coincidence level between presumptive and definitive diagnostics, as well as proving the concurrence grade to the second level and if there was follow up for these patients. One hundred and fourty-three patients were registered, 11 out of them had exclusion criteria. It was determined that in a general way for the seven days object of study, the percentage of patients remitted over the examined is in the range that the National program accepts, the higher of patients remitted was found in the age group of 60 years and over. The study revealed a prevalence of the useful remitted and 90.99 % of concurrence to the second level of attention. It was found prevalence of diagnostic coincidence with 64.17 % as well as those patients who were object of follow-up for 65.34 %.
