Abstract

It was reported for the firths time in Camagüey the presence of Aedes albopictus; specie of mosquitoe involved in the potential transmission of important viral fevers. It was detected in Sta. Cruz del Sur municipality (Camagüey province) in a rubber load, coming from Havana city without treatment and protection in which the immature stages of all larval stages as pupa of the analyzed specie, were collected. It was pro to implement in a priority order; physical, chemical and educative control measures which made possible the establishment of a hygienic-entomological barrier that hindered the propagation of this species in the territory.
