ABSTRACT The metabolic control of diabetes mellitus type I depends exclusively on the insulina therapy, dietetic regulation plays as very important role in these sick patients and the good control at the same time guarantees a longer life period without complications. A descriptive study of lipid serum levels (cholesterol, triglycerides, LDL-cholesterol and HDL-cholesterol) was performed trough enzymatic method, in 51 diabetic children, type I at Dr. Eduardo Agramonte Piña Provincial Hospital on March 2002, related with the metabolic control. It was shown that to higher uncontrol, higher positivity of these variables, all diabetic children with bad metabolic control
