Abstract

A descriptive study was carried out to characterize the intercrisis treatment of the asmathic patients in the health area of Ignacio Agramonte Loynaz Policlinic of Camagüey, within the period from January to December 2002. The sample was composed of 173 patients, for the selection a bietapic method was used. Patients were randomly chosen from three health clinics, the family medical record was the information source, data were completed in a survey collaborated depending on the existing relationship among the objetives stated and the bibliography reviewed and variables to the study were selected. Surveys constituded the primary register of the research and were performed to the sample object of study. From the analysis of them, it was found unfulfillment of the general measures of environmental control for the asthmatic patient in the 75, 72 %, pharmacologic treatment was based on the use of antihistaminic and sodium cromoglycate. There was few utilization of the immunotherapy and of the rehabilitating treatment approximately six out of 10 patients did not receive intercrisis treatment and 73, 99 % out of them did not use it for insufficient medical evolution. The results obtained showed irregularities in the intercrisis behaviour.
