Abstract

The medical records of 83 patients who were assisted for splenic traumatisms in our hospital from January 1996 to September 2002, were reviewed our of this figures, nine patients were selected, because the other two were eliminated for not gathering precious requisites for non-operative treatment. One patients belonged to the third and fourth decade of life; 77, 8 % were masculine and the remaining femenine Two patients presented important lesions, one of them costal fractures and other of tibia, they were practiced blood transfusions. Pain prevailed in the clinic of the sick, while abdominal echography confirmed the diagnosis of all cases. The evolution of the series was very favourable, discharge was achieved from 15 to 35 days.
