Abstract

A prospective, descriptive and analytic study was carried out at Ignacio Agramonte Polyclinic in Camagüey in 2002. The universe was composed of all diabetic patients registered. As sample, 515 patients were taken. The groups of risk factors were classified as: macroangiopathic an microangiopathic, mechanic, neuropathic, those that predispose to infection and others. In the first groups, arterial obstruction of lower limbs prevailed in the oldest (36, 2 %) and age in the youngest (79, 4 %) . In those microangiophatic, mechanic, neurophatic, predisposing to infection and other risk factors, hyperglycemia (20, 5 %),; excess of body weight( 62, 5 %), peripheric neuropathy (47, 2 %), previous lesions ( 28, 9 %) and deficient angilogic education (24, 5 %) respectively, prevailed. Frequency distribution in data process was applied.
