Abstract

An entomologic prospection was carried out se as to know presence and distribution of members of Culicidae family of Medical -veterinary relevance, in the touristic resort of Sta Lucia beach in the north coast of Camagüey province. Seven locations were sampled in which the presence of 12 species of mosquitoes were identified, being Culex quinquefasciatus, Ochlerotatus taeniorhynchus, Ochlerotatus sollicitans respectively. The zone of higher vectorial relevance as to variety of seems to show -better ecologic conditions for the establishment of such vectors. The report of species of marked sanitary interest obliges us to design and implement an adequate program of surveillance and antivectorial control, destined to the prevention of introduction and propagation of exotic diseases in Cuba.
