Abstract
RODRIGUEZ LOPEZ, Aquiles J; PILA PEREZ, Rafael; PILA PELAEZ, Rafael and VARGAS RODRIGUEZ, Ángel R. Determining factors of the prognosis in the ischemic ictus. AMC [online]. 2005, vol.9, n.2, pp. 24-37. ISSN 1025-0255.
An observational, analytic, longitudinal and prospective study of 128 patients with ischemic ictus who had been admitted to the Amalia Simoni General Hospital, city of Camagüey, was conducted from July 2001 through June 2002 to assess several variables and their repercussion upon malfunctioning. On the average, patients were males aged 72,5 who suffered from atherothrombotic-based infarction. High blood pressure prevailed as a risk factor. The two variable assessments showed that the forecast markers of functional repercussion were related to age, sex, risk factors, admission latency, hospital sojourn, hospital-admission-based complications, and initial seriousness of ictus.
