Abstract

Disability or mental retardation is a disorder that is presented frequently in the infant population. These children present specific characteristics that influence in their problems of oral health and in their treatment. An extensive bibliographic review was carried out with the aim of widening theoric knowledges in this matter. Oral affections is them are the some that affect the remaining population but generally have higher prevalence and severity. For this reason, it is necessary the integral treatment, emphasizing prevention and a high human sense; oriented by the health team.
