The universe was constituted by 2776 teachers stratified by each level of teaching, to which was applied a phoniatric exam and an epidemiological survey. Classified as risk factors: the smoking habit, the personnel pathological antecedent of laryngitis, to give continuous classes during the morning and more than 35h classes to the week, as well as the lack of discipline of the students and to be a teacher of the primary level of teaching.
