Abstract

A descriptive observational retrospective study was carried out in order to describe the renal graft loss behavior from dead-donor at "Manuel Ascunce Domenech" General Teaching Hospital of Camagüey, from January the 1st 2002 to December 31st, 2005. Every transplanted patients who had lost their renal graft from dead-donor, were studied. The hemorrhagic cerebrovascular disease was found to be the main cause of brain death in 10 cases. The 58.3% of the cases had lost their graft, after a year. Immunologic reasons were the main causes. Acute tubular necrosis was the main complication in early postrasplants, present in 14 patients. Acute tubular necrosis (ATN) was related to delayed cold ischemia mainly due to immunologic causes, was observed.
