Abstract
CHAVEZ PARDO, Iris; MERINO LOPEZ, Clemente; GONZALEZ FERNANDEZ, María del Carmen and RODRIGUEZ MARTI, Mariela. Traumatic dislocation of the eyeball to maxillary sinus. A case report. AMC [online]. 2007, vol.11, n.1, pp. 0-0. ISSN 1025-0255.
A case of a 73-years-old patient with facial orbit trauma and dislocation of the right eyeball in the maxillary sinus is presented. Among the employed diagnostic methods, the Computerized Axial Tomography was emphasized as that of greater utility. The clinic was presented and the surgical technique used for the placement of the eyeball, in its anatomical position in the orbit with preservation of its vascular, nervous and muscular structures was described. The complete prolapse of the eyeball in the maxillary sinus is unusual and it requires to be treated prematurely with an extensive surgery.
