Abstract

MEDRANO GARCIA, Roberto; VARELA HERNANDEZ, Ariel; DE LA TORRE ROSES, Marlen  and  MENDOZA CISNEROS, Rafael. Result of the neural therapy in lumbalgias. AMC [online]. 2010, vol.14, n.4, pp. 0-0. ISSN 1025-0255.

Background: lumbar pain is a worldwide problem, and its consequences have reached outstanding proportions. In United States it is the first cause of physical disability and medical consultation. Objective: to determine the effectiveness of the neural therapy in the treatment of unspecific neuralgia.  Methods: a multicentric and prospective open clinical trial was conducted, in thirty-four patients, diagnosed with unspecific lumbalgia, from April to December 2007. Evaluative instruments like the visual analog scale for Lumbalgia and Ciatalgia, specific quality of life questionnaires: Oswestry and Roland-Morris for pain and disability for lumbalgia respectively were used. For the information processing the statistical package SPSS for Windows was used and as statistical techniques, the arithmetic mean, and the typical deviation, Komolgorov-Smirnov and t-students tests. Results: thirty-four sick people were studied. A reduction of the visual analog scale for lumbalgia 5,23 points and for ciatalgia 3,88 points was obtained, the Oswestry showed a reduction of 36,1% in pain and the Roland-Morris 11 less points in disability for lumbalgia than at the beginning of the treatment. Conclusions: the effectiveness of the neural therapy was demonstrated in unspecific lumbalgia that is why it is propose as neuroreflextherapeutics method.
