Abstract

PINO GARCIA, Anais; RODRIGUEZ DE LA ROSA, Graciela  and  VALIER VILLAR, Laudelina. Treatment of chronic bronchial asthma with natural and traditional medicine: a case report. AMC [online]. 2017, vol.21, n.1, pp.864-875. ISSN 1025-0255.

Background: bronchial asthma is a diffuse obstructive lung disease characterized by hyperreactivity and chronic inflammation of the airways. It is the main cause of chronic disease in childhood. Allopathic treatments control symptoms with good results, but they are not effective in all patients. The different techniques of natural and alternative medicine offer the possibility to control the symptoms. Objective: to describe the clinic development of a patient diagnosed with bronchial asthma with combined therapies of natural and traditional medicine. Clinical case: a black male thirteen-year-old patient who attended consultation of natural and traditional medicine diagnosed with persistent serious bronchial asthma. Conclusions: By using combined therapies of natural and traditional medicine a case of persistent and serious bronchial asthma was controlled despite that allopathy had been ineffective.
