Abstract
MOYA, Aniel et al. Sodium Caprylate Stabilization of Albumin. Vaccimonitor [online]. 2000, vol.9, n.4, pp. 10-15. ISSN 1025-0298.
An albumin preparation was obtained from human plasma by a selective thermocoagulation method. We used different combinations of sodium caprylate and ethanol concentrations, which allowed the precipitation of globulins, while the albumin remained in solution. We establish the following parameters as constants: pH 6,9, temperature 69 °C and 30 min as the heating time. The best results of protein concentration and yield, was obtained with 0,004 M sodium caprylate, 5% ethanol, pH 6,9 and 30 min heating time. During the pasteurization for 10 h at 60 °C, the best results were obtained with 0,004 M sodium caprylate and a mixture of 0,02 M sodium caprylate and 0,02 M sodium acetyltryptophanate.
