Abstract

MOYA, Aniel et al. Serotyping and antibiotic susceptibility of Pseudomonas aeruginosa strains isolated from infected burnt patients. Vaccimonitor [online]. 2003, vol.12, n.2, pp. 13-18. ISSN 1025-0298.

Eleven strains of Pseudomonas aeruginosa were isolated from lesions in 10 burnt in patients. Serotyping and antibiogram analysis were done to determine the most frequent serotypes in these patients. The most frequently isolated were serotypes O4 and O5. We found marked resistance to the antibiotics carbenicillin (81.8%) and azlocillin (72.7%).

Keywords : Pseudomonas aeruginosa; antigen serotyping; antibiotics; antibiogram analysis.
