Abstract

DEL PUERTO, Carmen A et al. Organization and management of the collection of the reference strains of Finlay Institute. Vaccimonitor [online]. 2009, vol.18, n.1, pp.20-24. ISSN 1025-028X.

The collection of microbial cultures of Finlay Institute consists of strains for the production, research and development of vaccines and reference strains for the quality control of culture media, and disinfectants and hygienizing products. The methodology for the management of the reference seed lots is adequately established, however the collection of reference strains was not in the same conditions. Considering this, new reference lots were established from well-known collections and the new documentation was established, which include lot files, standard operational procedures, registries of lot control quality specifications and assay certificates.

Keywords : Reference strains; culture collection; vaccines.
