Abstract
GRAVE DE PERALTA, Yanara Toledano et al. Life quality of patients with asthma admitted in the services of Internal Medicine and Pneumology. MEDISAN [online]. 2009, vol.13, n.2, pp. 0-0. ISSN 1029-3019.
The three dimensions of life quality were evaluated in all the patients with asthma admitted in the services of Internal Medicine and Pneumology from "Dr. Juan Bruno Zayas Alfonso" Teaching General Hospital in Santiago de Cuba from May to December, 2007. Among the main variables analyzed there were: sex, age, school level, occupation, classification according to the severity of asthma and health perception. As summary measurements the absolute frequency and the percentage for qualitative variables were used. Statistical test X2 was applied (with a significance level of p<0,05) and the arithmetic mean and the standard deviation were used as measurements of central tendency. Life quality was affected in the 3 dimensions evaluated, with prevalence in the social one, followed by the physical dimension.
