Abstract

RODRIGUEZ CONSTANTIN, Alejandro  and  RODRIGUEZ BEYRIS, Reynaldo P. Chronic renal failure in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus in a health area. MEDISAN [online]. 2009, vol.13, n.6, pp. 0-0. ISSN 1029-3019.

A descriptive and cross-sectional study was carried out in 60 patients of 15 years and over with type 2 diabetes mellitus, who were diagnosed with this condition up to December 31st, 2005 in "30 de Noviembre" Polyclinic of Santiago de Cuba, and attending the Diabetic Care Center during this investigation. The females over the age of 45 with hypertension and medical family history of diabetes mellitus prevailed. Adults with normal weight and proteinuria, both females and males, were more numerous. There was a marked prevalence of the stage I in patients with chronic renal failure.
