A therapeutic intervention was carried out in 102 patients assisted at the Hemodialysis and Nephrology Service from "Yalgado Ouedraogo" National Hospital University Center in Burkina Faso, from August, 2007 to the same month of 2008, in order to evaluate the effectiveness of digitopuncture in a population with hypertension and chronic renal disease before and during the dialysis process. Patients older than 40 year-old, male sex and hypertension prevailed as first causes of chronic renal disease. The practice of this acupuncture technique was effective in 87,26 % of the series, not only for its clinical benefits, but also for the absence of adverse reactions.
