MUSLE ACOSTA, Mirelvis et al. Specific echographic parameters in patients with acute cholecystitis. MEDISAN [online]. 2011, vol.15, n.8, pp. 1091-1097. ISSN 1029-3019.
A descriptive and cross-sectional study of 201 patients with acute cholecystitis diagnosed at the Imaging Service and treated at the General Surgical Service from "Saturnino Lora" Provincial Clinical Surgical Teaching Hospital in Santiago de Cuba was carried from January, 2009 to June, 2010. Among the main results prevailed that this alteration was most frequent in women, persons of mixed race, and people aged 60 years old and over. Dilated gallbladder, its increased wall thickness, and edema, as well as lithiasis presence through vesicular neck were the predominant echographic parameters in the case material. Diagnosis and inflammation complications could be confirmed and defined using the ultrasound.
