The treatment of patients with cleft lip and palate has meant a breakthrough in the improvement of multidisciplinary health teams, since this congenital malformation demands the coordinated participation of several specialists from different branches of biomedical sciences as the only way to obtain good results, with the role of the orthodontists who take advantage of the potential for children's growth and development during this stage of life to achieve the therapeutic success on the whole.
