ESCOBAR YENDEZ, Nilia Victoria; PLASENCIA ASOREY, Carolina and ALMAGUER DELGADO, Alcides J. Validation of the pedagogic strategy for the development of the doctor's investigative competence in Comprehensive General Medicine Specialty. MEDISAN [online]. 2012, vol.16, n.3, pp. 467-482. ISSN 1029-3019.
Scientific investigation, as an essential function of the Public Health, is dialectically interrelated with the of pregraduate and postgraduate training processes for that aim. The review of the national and foreign literature has shown that there are shortcomings in the investigative function during the doctor's postgraduate training for specialization in Comprehensive General Medicine, which limits the quality of their professional performance in the Primary Health Care. The theoretical contribution of the author's doctoral thesis consisted of a training pedagogical model for investigative competence for the postgraduate, which was the base of the pedagogical strategy as a practical contribution, which was implemented and validated in the mountainous municipality of III Frente Oriental in Santiago de Cuba, as this is one of the regions with little development of the health scientific and technical activity. Results are shown in this work with the purpose of proposing the postgraduate training for investigative competence in Comprehensive General Medicine, which is the leading medical specialty in Cuba from the Primary Health Care and it represents the main subsystem of the Cuban national health system and its strategic base; all of which is directed to achieve a better professional performance and to improve the behavior of the university student under study.
