Abstract

SANCHEZ MASO, Yailén  and  JIMENEZ BETANCOURT, Elena. Resilient behaviors of two adolescents with end stage chronic renal failure. MEDISAN [online]. 2014, vol.18, n.2, pp.219-225. ISSN 1029-3019.

A study of multiple cases was carried out, with the aim of identifying the resilient behaviours of 2 adolescents with end stage chronic renal disease who received hemodialysis treatment in the Northern Children Hospital in Santiago de Cuba, from September, 2009 to April, 2010, for which the profile of a resilient boy proposed by Cristóbal Martínez was used. One of the patients was characterized without resources associated to the indicator; however, the other evidenced her capacity to overcome moments of emotional pain. In both females, similarities were appreciated as their corporal image was affected by the presence of a fistula, even when this indicator had in a different way in each of them, linked to the particularities of their internal and external resources. Also, overprotective attitudes were corroborated by some relatives who influenced negatively.
