Abstract

A descriptive, longitudinal and prospective study of 55 eyes with the same number of patients, operated of pterygium was carried out from October, 2012 to March, 2014, in the Ophthalmological Center from "Juan Bruno Zayas Alfonso" Teaching General Hospital in Santiago de Cuba by means of the conjunctival autoplasty. The female women with 30-39 years (27.3%), degree III of the disease (45.6%) and the hematoma as the most frequent complication (34.6%) prevailed in the series. This technique has been used with success in the last years, it is simple and its relapse index is minimum
