Abstract

CORONA CARPIO, Marcia Hortensia et al. Main factors provoquing dental implant failure. MEDISAN [online]. 2015, vol.19, n.11, pp. 1325-1329. ISSN 1029-3019.

A descriptive and cross-sectional study of 97 patients that attended the Prosthesis Service of "Mártires del Moncada" Teaching Provincial Stomatological Clinic in Santiago de Cuba was carried out from September, 2013 to the same month in 2014, to identify the main factors provoquing dental implant failure. Among the analyzed variables we can mention: sex, age, prosthesis type and others; among the main causes of the failure there were: absence of osteointegration in the maxilla and the back sectors in both arches, as well as the loss of that osteointegration in the fixed bridge
