Abstract

A descriptive and cross-sectional study of 30 patients with non metastatic breast cancer in free of disease interval, belonging to "Juan Bruno Zayas" and San Diego del Valle polyclinics of Cifuentes municipality. Villa Clara was carried out from December, 2014 to April, 2015, with the aim of identifying depressive symptoms and their relationship with social demographical and medical variables. Several techniques were used: test of Zung and Conde, psychological structured interview and inventory of situations and anxiety response. For the analysis of the results, the descriptive and inferencial statistics was used. The moderate level (60.0%) prevailed in the case material. The detected levels of anxiety (situational and range) were associated in a positive and significant way to the depression, which had great predictive value. The identified depressive symptoms affected the emotional well-being and they increased the vulnerability to the breast carcinoma
