A descriptive and cross-sectional study of 71 nursing infants younger than 7 months, admitted to the acute diarhreal disease service of "Dr. Antonio María Béguez César" Southern Teaching Children Hospital in Santiago de Cuba was carried out during 2013, in order to characterize them according to the clinical epidemiological variable of interest. In the series the bottle feeding (32.4%), the patients with regular life gender (62.0%), the eutrophic nutritional state (63.3%) and the osmotic diarrhea (59.1%) prevailed; it was also observed that mothers younger than 25 years were the ones stopping breast feeding earlier.
