Abstract

A descriptive study in 84 4th year students during their stay in the Caumatology Service of "Dr. Juan Bruno Zayas Alfonso" Teaching General Hospital was carried out from November, 2014 to April, 2015, aimed at valuing which component of the teaching-learning process presented limitations and the possible causes of the low academic results. A survey to 50 students and a test during their stay in the Caumatology Service to 34 students was applied. Among the main results there were: 72.0% of the students referred that the stay time was insufficient, 96.0% preferred the lectures to get the knowledge and they outlined irregularities with clothes, as well as 18.0% observed difficulties with the basic literature. The educational system should propitiate the conditions that guarantee the learning so that the student, in an independent way, can acquire the flow of necessary knowledge and can develop abilities and experiences
