Abstract

Misoprostol is considered an effective drug in obstetrics and gynecology, due to its use in the preinduction and induction of labor, and its impact in the caesarean section indicator, what justified to expose some arguments on its easy administration, stability, conservation, effectiveness and security. In this sense, the appropriate result is obtained with the administration of a 25 µg daily dose during 3 days, which is effective to achieve the cervical remodeling in an important number of patients who pass to the active phase and reach a cervical test equal or higher than 7 -- considered as a success criteria --; those that don't get it, are treated with the continuous method of 25 µg every 6 hours up to completing 4 doses
